Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham was the setting for an exhibition evening with former World Champion Bob ‘the limestone cowboy’ Anderson on Friday 16th July 2010. Presented by TD Events, Bob Anderson played in front of audience members who were fresh from the Warwickshire Bear’s Twenty20 victory over local rivals Worcestershire. The event which saw 14 darts enthusiasts try their hardest to beat the former World Champion all failed with the exception of one – Anthony West, aged 13 from Shropshire, who earlier in the evening during the exhibition interval, had recorded an 87 average whilst defeating another up and rising star, Luis Barberan aged 11 from Birmingham. Local charity Cure Leukaemia benefited from funds raised during the evening with various items being raffled off. Lucky audience members won hospitality packages at Edgbaston, the signed match board, signed Bob Anderson shirt and caps, signed ‘We Love Darts’ t-shirts and other darts related items kindly donated by thisisdarts.co.uk. Once Bob had finished demonstrating his skills at the oche, the darts legend joined the evenings MC Paul Booth on the microphone for an open questions and answers session.
